We are
in the car. She’s looking at me. I can see the love in her eyes for me. Then a
huge car crash. She’s flung out of the window. I’m thrown out too. A pool of
blood. Her eyes still on me… but now it’s a death stare.
I am Daman
and I wake up to this nightmare. Every. Single. Day.
The
nightmares from the accident are still haunting him. Daman, a wannabe writer, has
one name in his head since the day he woke up from coma, Shreyasi. He has his
life planned, a loving girlfriend, Avni, and his soon to be published book- ‘The
Girl of My Dreams’ which will be a break for his career. But its not long
before Shreyasi comes back, a 26-year-old married woman, and a crazy lover of
Daman. She awaits to see her love story in the book but is raged to see her
character turned entirely differ
ent. She is determined to win her place back,
ruin Daman’s girlfriend and make him fall in love with herself. But she is
different, not the one Daman feels and imagines about. Will she win?
The Girl of
My Dreams is a story of love. Love that comes in various forms- madness,
stalking and self-destructing. It is not always that what we imagine our
stories to be is the one that we find happiness in. Some people are better
fictional than in real world.
The story
overall was quite engaging. But some parts seemed too obvious that I could not
connect to the book anymore. The mystery and romance will indulge you in the
book while some over-exaggerating parts may keep you from liking it overall.
I personally enjoyed reading the story. Though, the mystery was kind of revealed halfway through the book but what actually occurs at the end puts a remarkable spike in the story. Do people sacrifice their lives for love? Read the book and find out.
